L. mantiqueirae 'Gemstone'

(syn. Laelia caulescens)

This is a Brazilian rupicolous species that has been a staple in our stud collection for decades. ‘Gemstone’ is noted for its full shaped large flowers. The star-shaped flowers are rosy lavender and can have 5 to 7 flowers on a spike. These plants are best grown in bright light, good air circulation and need a dryer rest period in the winter.

These plants are divisions of our stud plant and have been repotted fairly recently, so they are not fully established. The plants are all showing spikes in sheath at this time.
