Farewell and Thank You from the Johnston and Weil Families
After much thought, I have made the bittersweet decision to pass Jewell Orchids on to a new owner.
Jewell Orchids has been part of my family's legacy for more than 45 years. My parents, David and Angel Johnston, built this nursery through countless hours of hard work, dedication, and a genuine love for orchids. It has been an incredible privilege to continue their work over the past decade and to care for the collection my dad spent a lifetime building.
One of my greatest hopes was to pass Jewell Orchids on to someone who would truly appreciate what makes it special, value the collection, honor the legacy my parents created, and continue serving the orchid community with the same passion. I am so thankful to have found that person in Dr. Kendall Wyatt, who is now the new owner of Jewell Orchids and will lead the nursery into its next chapter in Tallahassee, Florida.
Kendall and his family have an exciting season ahead as they carefully relocate, organize, and integrate the thousands of orchids that make up the Jewell Orchids collection. During this transition, online sales will be temporarily paused for the next month or so. Watch for a message soon from Kendall and his family as they introduce themselves, share their plans for the future, and offer new orchids from their collection.
I will always be grateful for the wonderful customers and friends I've met over the years through the orchid community. Whether you've been with us for decades or discovered us only recently, thank you for allowing Jewell Orchids to be part of your orchid journey.
On behalf of my family, thank you for your kindness, your trust, and your support over the years. It has been an honor to carry on the legacy my parents began, and I know Jewell Orchids is in very capable hands.
