This is a primary hybrid between Schomburgkia (Laelia) undulata and Cattlaya (Guarianthe) aurantiaca that was originally registered by Rod McLellan Co. In 1965. When this plant was upgraded to a higher AM/AOS award in 2018, the awarded plant had 51 flowers on five inflorescences. The plant produces clusters of flowers that are glossy and very dark red. This is a fantastic plant and a really rare find!
