This is a species from the northern parts of South America. The plant will get quite large and the flower spikes will increase the size to over 5 foot at blooming…not a windowsill grower! The 3” flowers are a very dark blackish-burgundy highlighted by a florescent pink lip and are born on large heads of twenty or more.
